The class 7-8b has from 7.2.2011 to 13.2.2011 a vegetarian
week. 17 children’s don’t
ate meat this week. As a reward we get a cinema voucher. I liked it because my mother has suppo
rt myself. My favorite dish was fried potatoes.
Here is the recipe:
1 kg potatoes, peeled, ca. 1,5 cm dice
2 zucchini, washed, quartered, ca. 1,5 cm
3 carrots, peeled, quartered, 1 cm
a bit olive oil
a bit salt and pepper
preparation
Frying pan with a bit olive oil heat, the potatoes put in the pan and ca. 10 minutes sear. Give something carrots in the pan und 5 minutes sear. Then zucchini in put the pan and with salt and pepper to require taste.
Preparation time: ca. 15 min.

As I am alredy vegetarian I chose an even stricter diet.
I have practised a vegan week.
Actually it wasn´t that difficult. The moment you know you shuldn´t eat ceratin thing, in this case dairy products, you think you vergently need to have them. If you know you can get them any time you like you don´t wont them. The best meal I had were fried grated potato cakes with apple puree.
For that I look prepared potato dougt. First I put pal oil or magarine into a hot pan. Then I formed smoll flat cakes with a spoon and put them into the pan. I let them fry until they were golden.
Finally, I garnished them with appel puree on a plate – delicious!

From 7 February until 13 February 2011 we had a vegetarian week in our class.
We could win a cinema voucher. I found it very easy. I liked most pumpkin soup.
Cream of potato soup
Wash potatoes and peel. Cut 5 potatoes into small cubes,
the rest cut into thin slices. Heat some oil in a pen, fry the potato cubes until they are crispy. Place them on kitchen paper and keep them for the deposit. Put butter in a large pot foam can, than put potato slices and sauté chopped onion cubes in it. Put in vegetable broth, salt, add pepper, marjoram and bake leaf and potatoes in about 15 minutes and cook until soft. Take out the leaf, add cream and puree everything with a hand blender. Spice with salt, pepper and a hint of nutmeg and sprinkle with the fried potato cubes.
Ingredients for 3 portions
2 kg of potato
1 tbsp oil (sunflower oil)
2 liters vegetable stock
2 tablespoons butter
1 onion
1 bay leaf
1 teaspoon fresh marjoram
1 cup whipping cream
1 cup crème fraiche
1 pinch nutmeg, freshly grated

The vergetarian week was actually very easy for me. My parents really supported me and they even did the vegetarian week with me. The only problem was that on Saturday we had our traditional pork rib dinner from our sport club and I couldn't eat any. My main food were cheese and fruit. I learned from the vegetarian week that I have to eat less meat and a lot more vegetables and fruit. I made it through the week and I'm still alive: I would like to repeat this vegetarian week. There are still a lot of tasty recipes that I have found and have to try.

The vegetarian week was easy, because I like cheese.
My family supported me during the time. They ate no meat and no sausages.
I cooked vegetarian chilli con carne and it tasted very good.
On the penultimate day,it was difficult, because my family ate at Mc Donald’s.
But finally it was fun and I like to try another vegetarian week again.
