I am but two days old."
What shell I call thee?
"I happy am,
Joy is my name."
Sweet joy befall thee!

Crafting for Christmas

Each week a class has been meeting people from our village for a coffee morning. Adults and children have been making special craft gifts together to make decorations for our homes. We have also shared cakes and drinks together. It was fun.

North Leigh Autumn Fair

We held our first ever Autumn Fair on 21st October. There were 30 different activities for everyone to try. Some of them were: Woodlands survival, Cooking, Belly dancing, Judo, making Christmas decorations, and playing Musical instruments.
Everyone enjoyed it and it was all free because the activities were led by people from our local community. Elspeth in year 2 said, "I think the smoothie making was the most fun!"
Imogen, in year 6 said, "The Autumn Fair let people try out new things they had not done before".
Most people liked the Woodlands Survival best followed by making Christmas decorations. It was a very enjoyable Fair and we all hope to be doing it again next year.

Automn in Žetale

The autumn has come. It is getting colder outside and the nature is giving us its harvest. The leaves on trees are getting new bright colors .
Although it was very cold we had spent a great day. At the end we had a special Chestnut picnic. We were performing, dancing, eating baked chestnuts and we had some great time.
We had learned to sing a song about the hedgehog and the pears and then we also painted them.
Our teacher brought some pumpkins! We decorated them with the materials that we had found in the forest. They are still in our classroom and they are very interesting and beautiful.
We went to the forest to see our famous Big breech tree. The path trough the forst was very interesting. We saw our village and also some hills around: Resenik, Donačka gora and Macelj
We also saw the anthill. It was very big, but the ants had already been in their warm home. We did not see the other animals that live in the forest; the deer, boars, foxes, squirrels and birds, but we hope we will see them next t Especially dangerous is the tick. We have learned that every time when were return from the forest we have to carefully examine our body. If we find a tick we have to carefully remove it .
In the forest we saw different kinds of trees: beech tree, pine tree, chestnut tree, birch tree. The leaves on trees is now very colorful and it will soon fall away. There were also blueberries, raspberries, mushrooms but we were picking chestnuts.
We are the students of the second class of the elementary school in Žetale:
MATJAŽ, NEJC, VALENTINA, KORNELIJA, JERNEJ, TOMAŽ, MOJCA, AMALIJA, TJAŠA and our teacherMARIJA
